Prof Steve Madden is an Associate Professor in the Department of Quantum Science & Technology at The Australian National University (ANU). He leads research in hybrid optical technologies, ultrafast laser systems, and precision optics fabrication. His work spans integrated photonics, laser processing, and optical coatings development.
Education: BSc(Eng), PhD, DIC.
Research Interests: Fibre and integrated optics, planar waveguides, ultrafast laser applications (nonlinear optics, materials processing), optical metrology, and optical coatings. He runs the ANFF Optofab node for high-performance optical coatings and diamond-turned optics.
