معرفی
Martin Ams is a Research Fellow at Macquarie University's School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences and Business Development Manager for the OptoFab node of the Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF). He received a B.Sc. in Physics (2001) and Ph.D. in Optical Laser Physics (2008) from Macquarie University, followed by postdoctoral work at City University London (2011-2013) before returning to Macquarie.
Research Interests:
- Laser fabrication of photonic waveguide devices
- Fiber Bragg gratings for sensing, telecom, astronomy, quantum, and biophotonics
- Radiation-resistant fiber sensors for nuclear environments
- Concrete corrosion monitoring in wastewater systems
Recent Publications demonstrate expertise in femtosecond laser processing of mid-infrared fiber gratings, concrete corrosion sensing systems, and mode-division multiplexing technologies. Key applications span environmental monitoring, infrastructure diagnostics, and astrophotonics.
Scientific Awards
- Engineering Excellence Award (2007, 2009) - Highly Commended in Innovations & Inventions
Grants & Collaborations: AUD 1.3M in competitive funding; collaborations with industry partners Sydney Water, Morgan AM&T, and international researchers in UK/Germany/India. Involves in SmartCrete CRC and Dragonfly astrophotonics projects.
