Steve Lamoreaux is a Professor of Physics at Yale University, affiliated with the Wright Laboratory. His research focuses on experimental particle physics, quantum mechanics, and dark matter detection. Key projects include the HAYSTAC axion dark matter search and the ALPHA experiment. He co-authored the textbook The Historical and Physical Foundations of Quantum Mechanics (Oxford University Press, 2023). Current efforts involve Phase III of HAYSTAC, leveraging advanced quantum detection technologies. Lamoreaux has contributed to studies of the Casimir force, neutron electric dipole moment (EDM), and molecular cooling techniques.
