Steve Doig is a Professor at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication, Arizona State University (ASU). He previously held the founding Knight Chair in Journalism (1996–2017) and now teaches online courses in data journalism. His career includes roles as associate editor/researcher at the Miami Herald, where his work earned prestigious awards. He also served as a combat correspondent in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star.
