Steve Cole is a Clinical Professor in Music Business and Saxophone at the University of St. Thomas, serving as Head of Music Industry Studies and Recording Arts. He holds an EdD from the Opus College of Business (University of St. Thomas), an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a BA in Economics from Northwestern University.

Research & Expertise: Dr. Cole focuses on music business, recording arts, and popular music performance. His organizational research explores how arts-based interventions enhance creativity and agility in individuals and organizations. He has extensive industry experience as a recording artist (Atlantic Records, Warner Bros., etc.) and performer at major venues worldwide.
Teaching & Leadership: Teaches courses in innovation, music business fundamentals, and saxophone performance. Previously directed the Music Business program at Columbia College Chicago and served as Director of Finance/Administration at the Sherwood Conservatory of Music. Active in industry governance as a former Governor of the Middle West chapter of the Recording Academy.
Labs/Teams: Oversees the Music Industry Studies program and coordinates record label-focused courses (A&R, Production) at the University of St. Thomas.
