Stephen Wey

Stephen Wey is a Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at York St John University, affiliated with the School of Science, Technology and Health. He holds academic qualifications including a BSc (Hons) in Behavioural Sciences from Huddersfield University, a BHSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy from York St John University, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice.

His research focuses on dementia care, assistive technology, and Cultural-Historical Activity Theory (CHAT), emphasizing rehabilitation, enablement, and the ethical use of technology. He collaborates with organizations like the Centre for Enabling Environments and Assistive Technology (CEEAT), contributing to projects such as the ATGuide for dementia care and workforce development in re-ablement services.

Teaching responsibilities include modules on external influences on practice, psychosocial skills, and applied skills for practice. He also coordinates the year three program.

His publications include work on assistive technology for dementia and dynamic assessment frameworks. Professional activities include serving as a journal reviewer for the British Journal of Occupational Therapy and a Specialist Advisor for Alzheimer's Society.
