Nicola Beaumont

Nicola Beaumont is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at York St John University, appointed in 2018. She holds a BHSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Leeds University (1997) and has 20 years of NHS clinical experience, specializing in critical care, cardiothoracic care, tracheostomy management, and early rehabilitation in critical care. She maintains clinical skills through weekend shifts in her areas of expertise.

Teaching responsibilities include module leadership for Cardio-vascular Respiratory and Employability on the undergraduate programme, with upcoming involvement in the Postgraduate MSc programme. She is pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP).

Research focuses on respiratory physiotherapy in critical care, cognitive-behavioral rehabilitation for cardiac patients, and neuromuscular disease respiratory management. Professional memberships include the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP), and Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Respiratory Care (ACPRC).
