Stephen Voida is an Associate Professor and founding faculty member in the Department of Information Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. His work bridges human-computer interaction (HCI), ubiquitous computing, and health informatics to examine how technology impacts mental health, both positively and negatively.
- Current research focuses on mental health informatics, remote work technologies, and chronic disease management systems.
- He teaches programming, hands-on research seminars, and ubiquitous computing courses at CU Boulder.
Recent publications explore feminist design lenses for remote work, narrative healing in suicide bereavement, and infrastructuring diabetes care in youth. His work has received recognition, including a CHI 2024 Best Paper Honorable Mention. Stephen emphasizes collaboration, supporting CU students through independent study credits, and connecting external prospects with departmental research groups.
