Dr. Stephen Truhon serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychological Science and Counseling at Austin Peay State University, where he has held a faculty position since 2005. His primary teaching responsibilities span both the main Clarksville campus and Fort Campbell military installation, covering core psychology curricula and specialized industrial-organizational topics.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology from College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA)
- Master's and Doctoral degrees in Psychology with Developmental emphasis from Michigan State University
His research trajectory evolved from foundational Developmental Psychology investigations into children's play patterns and adolescent value systems during the 1970-80s, to applied Personnel Psychology research following extensive summer programs at Armstrong Laboratory (Brooks Air Force Base) and the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI). Current scholarly focus integrates Test Construction methodologies with Equal Opportunity frameworks in military and civilian organizational contexts.
