Sukhada Gokhale

Sukhada Gokhale is a Lecturer in the Film and Mass Media Program at the Nicholson School of Communication and Media, part of the University of Central Florida (UCF). She has over two decades of experience as a filmmaker and educator across the United States, France, and India. Her work bridges theory and practice, focusing on small budget productions, international cinema, subtitling, and community-driven media projects. She holds offices at UCF and has affiliations in multiple locations, including NSCM 229 (main campus) and CMB 203 (downtown Orlando).

Her research emphasizes practical filmmaking methodologies and international cultural exchanges through cinema. Sukhada has curated and organized film festivals in North Carolina and Florida, including the South Asian Film Festival in Winston-Salem. She has also led workshops in seven cities, training diverse audiences in media production and arts. Her community-focused projects include collaborations with healthcare nonprofits, dance educators for mobility therapies, and blues musicians to integrate unhoused community members into artistic endeavors.
