Stephen Tedeschi is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at The University of Alabama. He received his PhD in English from Yale University and joined UA in 2011. His research focuses on British Romantic literature and 19th-century British literature, with particular emphasis on urbanization's impact on poetic expression.
Tedeschi explores how poets responded to changing urban landscapes during the Industrial Revolution. His book Urbanization and English Romantic Poetry examines how city environments shaped poetic forms and themes. His current research investigates Percy Shelley's approaches to poetic communication and the representation of artificial societal structures in Romantic literature.
His scholarly contributions appear in journals including European Romantic Review, Keats-Shelley Journal, and Essays in Romanticism. Tedeschi teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in British Romantic literature and literary theory.
