Dr. Stephen Monterosso is a Senior Lecturer and Discipline Lead (Business Law) at Curtin Law School, part of the Faculty of Business and Law at Curtin University. He holds academic positions in the Office of the Provost and teaches courses such as Safety & Environmental Health Law, Business Law, and Engineering Law. His research focuses on criminal law, organized crime, juvenile justice, safety and occupational health, education law, and criminology.
Monterosso earned a PhD in Law (Curtin University, 2015), a Master of Criminal Justice (UWA), and postgraduate qualifications in Business Law. He has coordinated subjects like the University of London law degree for WA students and contributed to a $1.5M research grant (2022) investigating early intervention strategies for at-risk youth. His work emphasizes rights-based approaches to juvenile justice and legal critiques of institutions like Banksia Hill.
