Stephen May is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University, UK. He holds a PhD ('Development of Aspects of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy', 2008) and a Fellowship from the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (2006). With 12 years of NHS clinical experience, he specialises in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and the McKenzie approach to mechanical diagnosis and therapy. He co-authored Robin McKenzie's textbooks and collaborates with the McKenzie Institute International. His research focuses on reliability studies in musculoskeletal therapy, particularly extremity problems and cervical patients in Italy. He mentors postgraduate students in global contexts like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and India.
