Stephen Kumako is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University (NTU). He teaches undergraduate modules, supervises postgraduate students, and serves as Assistant Course Leader for the Human Resource Management Undergraduate Programme. Previously, he held academic roles at the University of Ghana, including Lecturer in Psychology and Tutor at the Institute of Continuing and Distance Education. His career also includes industry experience as a Business Development Manager and HR Consultant in Ghana's transport and logistics sector.
Research focuses on workplace well-being, including bullying prevention, mental health promotion, and resilience strategies. Notable contributions address psychosocial risks in Ghana’s oil and gas industry, climate anxiety in agricultural laborers, and the impact of paradoxical leadership in Saudi Arabian workplaces. He has presented at major conferences like Work, Stress, and Health (USA), and EAOHP (Athens/London).
Professional memberships include the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP) and Ghana Psychological Council (GPC). Awards include Associate Fellowship from the UK Higher Education Academy. Current research explores skilled African migrants' employment dynamics in the UK and resilience-building mechanisms across diverse organizational contexts.
