Stephen Kroninger

Stephen Kroninger is an award-winning illustrator and photo-collage artist based in New York City who holds a teaching position at Parsons School of Design, part of The New School. His creative work has been featured in major U.S. and international publications worldwide, establishing him as a significant figure in contemporary illustration.

His artistic practice spans multiple disciplines:

• Illustration for major publications
• Photo-collage techniques
• Children's book authorship and illustration
• Animation production
• Caricature and portrait work
• Political commentary through visual art

Kroninger's career achievements include having his work featured in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), The Library of Congress, and the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. He notably received the prestigious Stevan J. Dohanas Award from the Society of Illustrators, along with additional gold medals from the same organization. His animation work has been selected for the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, created for Nickelodeon and Chris Rock projects, and featured in exhibits at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

His professional recognition includes:

• Solo exhibition at MoMA in 1992 (the only time MoMA devoted a one-person show to an illustrator)
