Stephen G. Cecchetti is the Rosen Family Chair in International Finance at the Brandeis International Business School, with concurrent roles as Research Associate at the NBER and Research Fellow at the CEPR. He previously served as Economic Adviser and Head of the Monetary and Economic Department at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) from 2008 to 2014. His academic career includes faculty positions at NYU's Stern School of Business (1982–1987) and Ohio State University's Department of Economics (1987–2003). He also held leadership roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (1997–1999) and edited the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking (1992–2001). In 2016, he received an Honorary Doctorate in Economics from the University of Basel.
