Stephen Fleischauer is a Sessional Lecturer in the School of Plant Agriculture at the University of Guelph. After retiring in late 2020 from his role as Director of the Associate Diploma in Turfgrass Management (ADTM), he continues in a limited teaching capacity within the DTM program. With over two decades of experience, he has specialized in developing alternative and online learning initiatives through Open Learning and Educational Support. His teaching spans diploma and degree programs, covering topics like communication studios, landscape design, golf course architecture, and landscape construction.

His research interests focus on practical, applied learning methodologies; independent study skill development; and innovative educational delivery systems. He actively engages with the 'green' industry through professional development initiatives and explores contemporary urban landscape design approaches.
Having served on the Ontario and Canadian Society of Landscape Architects, Fleischauer combines academic rigor with professional expertise in urban design and landscape architecture. He remains committed to the DTM program, emphasizing hands-on training and adaptive pedagogical strategies.
