معرفی
Stephen D. Prentice is an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo, currently on leave and not accepting new graduate students. His research focuses on biomechanics, motor control, and neural aspects of human movement, particularly gait adaptations and postural stability. He holds a BSc and PhD from the University of Waterloo, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Université de Montréal.
Research Interests: His work spans gait adaptations to environmental challenges, neural control mechanisms during locomotion, and age-related changes in motor function. Notable contributions include studies on limb mechanics under altered conditions and neural network models for muscle activation patterns.
Scientific Achievements: Awarded Fellow of the Canadian Society for Biomechanics (2008). His publications explore topics like stilt use ergonomics, mediolateral dynamic stability in aging populations, and cortical-brainstem control of locomotion.
Advising & Grants: Currently not supervising students. His research has been published in journals such as Journal of Biomechanics, Experimental Brain Research, and Journal of Neurophysiology.
