Stephen D. Brookfield is a Distinguished Scholar at Antioch University and holds adjunct and emeritus positions at Teachers College, Columbia University, and the University of St. Thomas. With a 40-year career in adult education, he focuses on critical thinking, dialogue, and power dynamics in educational and social contexts.
His research spans critical reflection, leadership, and racial identity, particularly addressing white supremacy. He has authored or co-authored 19 books, many of which have received the Cyril O. Houle World Award for Literature in Adult Education.
