Stephen Badham is an Associate Professor in Psychology at the School of Social Sciences, Nottingham Trent University. He teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate psychology courses and conducts research on cognitive ageing and memory, focusing on age differences in associative memory and how older adults can leverage knowledge and experience to mitigate memory deficits.
Education:
- PhD in Psychology (research focused on age differences in associative memory)
His research explores how older adults can use prior knowledge to reduce age-related deficits in memory and inhibition, as well as the role of multisensory stimuli in enhancing cognition and wellbeing in old age. He has secured grants from UKRI, NIHR, ESRC, and other institutions to support this work.

Stephen collaborates with researchers at institutions such as The University of Nottingham, University of Toronto, and University of Warwick. He also leads the Trent Ageing Panel, a volunteer group of older adults participating in research studies at NTU.
