Stephen Anderson is a Professor of Optometry and Visual Neuroscience at Aston University, affiliated with the College of Health and Life Sciences. He holds roles such as Director of the Neurosciences Research Institute (2001–2005) and Head of Neurosciences (2005–2010, 2012–2014). His research focuses on neuroimaging, polarization pattern perception, amblyopia, and age-related macular degeneration, funded by EPSRC, BBSRC, and The Wellcome Trust. He has supervised over 15 PhD and MSc students, including work on myopia progression and laser eye correction effects. Awards include a Fulbright Fellowship and visiting professorships in Japan.
