Stephen Aaron Goutman, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Michigan Medical School and Director of the ALS Clinic and ALS Center of Excellence at Michigan Medicine. He specializes in neuromuscular diseases, with a focus on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

His recent work includes multisite clinical trials through the Northeast ALS Consortium (NEALS) and advocacy for mandatory ALS reporting in Michigan to enhance data collection and prevention efforts.
