Stephen A. Brown is an Associate Professor at Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy (Department of Pharmacy Practice), joined in 2019. His roles include teaching pharmacy law, men’s health, and community pharmacy practice; precepting fourth-year students at a Federally Qualified Health Center; and directing the school’s PGY1 community-based pharmacy residency program.

Research Focus: Community pharmacy practice management, pharmacy law compliance, diabetes education, and continuing professional development. His work emphasizes pharmacist-led interventions in chronic disease management and legal/ethical issues in healthcare delivery.
Recent Publications: Focused on biometric screening protocols, chronic pancreatitis patient care, antiplatelet-cannabidiol interactions, and vitamin B12 monitoring in metformin/PPI users. These studies highlight his interest in optimizing community pharmacy’s role in preventive care and patient safety.
Service & Leadership: Active in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, Alabama Pharmacy Association, and Samford University Faculty Senate. Serves on Alabama Medicaid Medicare Care Advisory Committee.
