Stephanie Zonszein is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on immigrant integration policies, intergroup relations, and causal inference methods. She holds a PhD from New York University and previously served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania.
Her research examines how structural and cultural policies affect immigrant integration, including the role of ethnic media in political engagement and societal reactions to immigrant political representation. She teaches courses on Latino politics, immigration, and observational causal inference methods.
Zonszein’s work integrates experimental and observational data analysis, with contributions to methodological tools like the R package 'interference' for estimating spillover effects. Her findings highlight how accommodation of cultural diversity can promote political participation without requiring assimilation.
