Stephanie Watson-Grant, DrPH, is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Maternal and Child Health at the University of North Carolina's Gillings School of Global Public Health. She currently serves as Deputy Project Director for the USAID-funded Country Health Information and Data Use (CHISU) program. With over 17 years of experience in international health and development, her expertise spans strategic leadership, M&E systems assessment, and health information system implementation.
Education: DrPH in Health Policy and Management from UNC Chapel Hill (dissertation focus: country ownership and health outcomes); MSc in Government (International Relations) from University of the West Indies.
Key Experience: Directed field operations for the $118M MEASURE Evaluation project, overseeing activities in 36 missions. Demonstrated leadership in managing large, geographically dispersed teams and collaborating with governments, donors (USAID, Global Fund), and civil society organizations. Specializes in strengthening evaluation capacities and fostering country ownership of health initiatives.
