Adam Zolotor

Adam Zolotor, MD, DrPH, is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Maternal and Child Health at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. His research focuses on child abuse epidemiology, prevention programs, and public health policy. He co-leads the largest evaluation of a shaken baby prevention program and develops cell phone-based parenting interventions for adolescent parents, integrating nurse case management and peer support.

Education: DrPH in Maternal and Child Health (UNC Gillings, 2011), MD (UNC-Chapel Hill, 1998), MPH (UNC-Chapel Hill, 1997), and BA in English (University of Michigan, 1993).

Research interests emphasize child maltreatment prevention, family violence dynamics, and policy-driven population health strategies. He has authored key publications on corporal punishment, intimate partner violence, and school-based child violence.

Awards include the Sidney Chipman Award, James W. Woods Faculty Award, and multiple honors from public health and medical organizations. His work bridges clinical practice, research, and global health initiatives.
