Stephanie Stadden serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the School of Health, Exercise and Sport Science at Lenoir-Rhyne University, where she has held faculty positions since August 2007 while also contributing as Assistant Athletic Trainer for student-athletes.
Her educational qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training and Physical Education from Minnesota State University - Mankato
- Master's in Physical Education with Psychological Aspects of Sport emphasis from Minnesota State University - Mankato
- PhD in Exercise and Sport Science with Sport and Exercise Psychology emphasis from UNC-Greensboro
Dr. Stadden's research and teaching focuses on the intersection of psychological principles with athletic performance, rehabilitation, and physical activity. She instructs the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity course alongside graduate-level Athletic Training and Exercise Science curriculum, emphasizing evidence-based applications in sport psychology and conditioning.
Her professional credentials include Board of Certification as Athletic Trainer, National Strength and Conditioning Association certification as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, North Carolina licensure for athletic training practice, and American Red Cross certification as First Aid/CPR/AED instructor. She maintains active membership in the National Athletic Trainers' Association, National Strength and Conditioning Association, and Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
In her dual administrative and clinical role, she oversees the School of Health, Exercise and Sport Science while directly supporting athletic training services for LR University student-athletes, integrating academic leadership with hands-on clinical supervision.
