Dr. Stephanie Richey is Lecturer in Curriculum Studies (Primary) at University of Tasmania's Faculty of Education. Her research investigates opportunity and access in educational choices, particularly language enrolment decisions in secondary schools and non-academic attributes in teacher education programs.
Research areas include:
- Elective language enrolment patterns and barriers
- Primary-secondary transition in language learning
- Industry-education partnerships
- Gender equity in computer science education
- Sustainability integration in teacher training
She leads community initiatives including the Girls' Programming Network (GPN) in North-West Tasmania through a Tasmanian Community Fund grant and partnership with Zonta Club of Cradle Coast.
Honors include grants supporting cross-sector collaborations and technology education outreach programs for young women.
