معرفی
Stephanie Neuhuber is a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Applied Geology, Department of Landscape, Water and Infrastructure at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). She has been Head of the Laboratory for the Extraction of Cosmogenic Nuclides and teaching at BOKU since 2016, and previously served as a Lecturer at the University of Vienna for interdisciplinary ecological exercises.
Her research focuses on Quaternary geology, geomorphology, and geochronology, with particular expertise in cosmogenic nuclide dating, luminescence dating techniques, and the study of glacial and fluvial landscapes. Her work spans multiple geographic regions including the Eastern Alps, Vienna Basin, Slovenia, Bavaria, and the Arabian Peninsula.
Neuhuber's recent publications demonstrate a strong emphasis on dating glacial sediments, reconstructing landscape evolution, and investigating tectonic movements using advanced geochronological methods. Her research often involves international collaborations on major projects like the ICDP DOVE (Drilling Overdeepened Alpine Valleys) project.
Among her significant scientific contributions are methodological advancements in cosmogenic radionuclide burial dating and single grain pIRIR luminescence dating techniques for glacial sediments. Her work bridges field observations with laboratory analyses to reconstruct past environmental conditions and landscape evolution.
Neuhuber has supervised multiple graduate students, guiding research on topics including mountain glacier sensitivity, landscape development, and geological applications in urban settings. Her work connects geological processes with broader environmental questions relevant to climate change and landscape management.
