معرفی
Aaron M. Barth is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology at Rowan University's School of Earth & Environment. He leads the Rowan Cosmogenic Nuclide Laboratory (RCNL), focusing on glacial geology and paleoclimatology. His research integrates geochronology, geomorphology, and sedimentology to reconstruct glacial histories and climate change impacts.
Education:
- Postdoctorate, University of Wisconsin-Madison (2016-2018)
- Ph.D. in Geoscience, Oregon State University (2016)
- B.S. in Earth Science (Geology), George Mason University (2012)
- A.S., Northern Virginia Community College (2009)
Research Interests: Dr. Barth’s work centers on Quaternary geology, ice sheet dynamics, cosmogenic nuclide dating, and climate change. He explores how past ice sheets responded to climatic shifts through field mapping, exposure dating, and ice-sheet modeling.
Publications: His recent work highlights interdisciplinary approaches to reconstructing glacial histories, including studies on the Laurentide Ice Sheet, Sierra Nevada deglaciation, and Holocene glacier retreat in Alaska. Key themes include polythermal ice conditions, deglacial thinning patterns, and the application of cosmogenic nuclides.
Awards/Grants: No scientific awards listed. Active in collaborative research projects, including funding for Laurentide Ice Sheet studies.
Labs/Teams: Directs the Rowan Cosmogenic Nuclide Laboratory (RCNL), dedicated to advancing cosmogenic isotope analyses for glacial and climatic research.
