Stephanie Moon, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Michigan Medical School. Her primary research focuses on mRNA function, localization, and RNA-protein granules, particularly in the context of cellular stress responses and neurodegenerative diseases. Her lab investigates mechanisms of translation regulation under stress and the role of VCP mutations in diseases like ALS and frontotemporal dementia.
Education: Postdoctoral Fellow at Howard Hughes Medical Institute and University of Colorado-Boulder (2014-2019); Ph.D. in Pathology from Colorado State University (2009-2014); B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Fort Lewis College (2003-2008).
