Amy Si-Ying Lee is an Assistant Professor of Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and holds a joint appointment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She completed her Ph.D. in Virology at Harvard University (2012) and postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley. Her lab investigates mechanisms regulating mRNA translation in response to environmental signals, focusing on development, viral infection, and cellular stress. The lab employs an integrative approach combining biochemistry, cell biology, structural biology, and sequencing technologies.
Key research interests include specialized mRNA translation pathways, ribosome dynamics, and their roles in disease contexts such as cancer and viral pathogenesis. Lee’s work bridges fundamental biology with translational applications, particularly in understanding how translational control governs cellular responses to stress and infection.
