Stephanie Meyer serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Music Department at Eastern Oregon University, teaching Performance Voice, Class Voice, and Vocal Methods. She previously held voice instructor positions at Benedictine College (2023-2025) and UMKC Conservatory's Academy/Musical Bridges programs (2011-2025), and at Avila University (2016-2020).
Dr. Meyer earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts from University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory, Master of Music from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Bachelor of Music Education from South Dakota State University.
Her research and artistic work focuses on voice performance, opera, music education, and interdisciplinary arts collaboration. As a champion of interdisciplinary approaches, she produced the opéra-ballets Moving Songs: Faith, Hope, and Love (2009) and Moving Songs: Celebration of Diversity (2016), which integrate vocal performance with dance, visual arts, and narrative.
Dr. Meyer's creative output demonstrates strong trends toward interdisciplinary collaboration, exploring themes of cultural diversity, African American experience, religious themes, and the integration of visual arts with musical performance. Her research on Debussy examines cultural contexts surrounding early vocal works.
