Stephanie Shelden is an Instructor of Voice at Wichita State University, specializing in vocal performance and pedagogy. She is a native of Wichita and has performed with notable opera companies such as Wichita Grand Opera (upcoming roles: Third Wood Sprite in Rusalka and Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel) and Opera Kansas (The Murderess). Her roles include Meriola (Two Remain), Dritte Dame (Die Zauberflöte), Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Annio (La Clemenza di Tito). She holds a Master's in Voice Performance from Florida State University, where she served as a Graduate Assistant in Musical Theatre. She has also participated in Central City Opera's Young Artist Program for two seasons.
Shelden is a sought-after teacher, mentoring students who have won NATS competitions and perform with institutions like the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts, The Palace Theatre, and Music Theatre of Wichita. She was honored as a Kansas City District winner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, reflecting her prominence in vocal arts.
