Stephanie Levy

Dr. Stephanie Levy is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Hunter College, with affiliations at the CUNY Graduate Center Department of Anthropology and as core faculty in the New York Consortium in Evolutionary Primatology (NYCEP). Her research integrates biological anthropology, energetics, and endocrinology to study human adaptation in extreme environments.

• Specializes in human biology, focusing on cardiometabolic health, climate change impacts, and health disparities
• Director of the Levy Human Energetics Lab in Room 715 North Building
• Co-Principal Investigator for the Indigenous Siberian Health and Adaptation Project (ISHAP)

Her work examines how ecological and social environments shape biological variation across human populations and primate species, with field studies in Siberia and collaborations at the Yale Reproductive Endocrinology Lab.

Dr. Levy earned her BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Michigan (2009) and PhD in Biological Anthropology from Northwestern University (2017).
