Stephan Zippe

Stephan Zippe is a Professor of Gregorian Chant and German Liturgical Singing at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts since 2006. He also serves as Diocesan Music Director of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising since 2019.

• Education: Studied Catholic Church Music (1992-1997) with a focus on Gregorian Chant under Johannes B. Göschl

Research interests span Gregorian chant analysis, liturgical musicology, and sacred music performance traditions. His work emphasizes melodic restitution and historical interpretation of chant repertoires.
