Dr. Stephan McCandliss is a Research Professor and Director of the Center for Astrophysical Sciences (CAS) at Johns Hopkins University's Department of Physics & Astronomy. He leads the Sounding Rocket group, specializing in experimental astrophysics and ultraviolet astronomy. His work involves innovative spectroscopic designs and has resulted in 16 rocket launches since 1988, observing celestial objects like comets and nebulae.
