Stephan Malinowski

Stephan Malinowski is a Senior Lecturer in Modern European History at the University of Edinburgh and academic staff member at the Institute for German and International Party Law and Party Research (PRUF) of Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf, with prior appointments at University College Dublin, FRIAS Freiburg, and Harvard University.

He earned his doctorate from the European University Institute (EHI) in Florence (1995-1998) following studies in History and Political Science at Berlin and Montpellier institutions, focusing on the history of the German nobility from 1871 to 1945.

Malinowski's research centers on Modern European History with expertise in Political History, History of Political Parties, and Party Law. He is internationally recognized for groundbreaking analyses of the German nobility's role during imperial and Nazi eras, particularly the Hohenzollern dynasty's entanglement with National Socialism, employing interdisciplinary methodologies bridging historical, legal, and political science frameworks.
