Stella Hiatt Kane

Stella Hiatt Kane serves as Professor and Director of Musical Theatre/Dance in the Department of Theatre & Dance at Otterbein University, where she has been faculty since 1989. She concurrently holds positions as founding Artistic Director of JazzMet and BalletMet Academy faculty member.

Her creative scholarship focuses on Musical Theatre integration, Jazz and Ballet technique pedagogy, and theatrical dance choreography. Professional experience includes national/international tours with Bob Fosse's "Dancin'" and The American Dance Machine, plus PBS "Dance In America" appearances.

Notable honors include:

• Best Choreography award for "Damn Yankees" (Otterbein University, BroadwayWorld.com 2017)
• Columbus Council Artistic Excellence Award for "JazzMoves" (BalletMet 2006)

She maintains active professional development through master classes at The Ohio State University and New York University, residencies at Northern Ballet Theatre (Leeds, England), and guest choreography for Columbus Dance Theatre.
