Stella Demesticha is an Associate Professor of Maritime Archaeology at the Department of History and Archaeology, University of Cyprus. She specializes in ancient shipwrecks, amphorae, and maritime trade networks in the Eastern Mediterranean. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. from the University of Cyprus (2002) and postgraduate studies in Cypriot Archaeology. She has directed major projects like the Mazotos and Nissia shipwrecks and led international collaborations such as iMARECULTURE and THETIDA. Her research emphasizes 3D modeling, organic residue analysis, and maritime heritage preservation. She teaches courses on maritime archaeology, shipwreck management, and ceramic analysis.
