Stein Antonsen

Stein Antonsen is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the Department of Economics, University of Inland Norway. He holds a Master of Business Administration (1983) and advanced accounting qualifications from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), including a license as a state-authorized public accountant (1986). With over 30 years of professional experience, he transitioned to academia full-time in 2013 after working in external auditing from 1984–2013.

His research focuses on taxation, accounting practices, and auditing, particularly in welfare sectors and small enterprises. Key projects include analyzing tax evasion risks in deregulated industries and evaluating internal controls in crisis scenarios. He contributes to the Financial Management, Accounting and Auditing research group.

Antonsen teaches tax law, accounting standards, and auditing at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His publications (see Cristin) address topics like kindergarten commercialization impacts, audit obligation reforms, and crisis management in energy sectors. He has presented widely on tax planning strategies and regulatory compliance challenges in Norway.
