Dr. Steffen Westermann is a Lecturer in Financial Planning at Griffith University's Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics. His PhD research examined behavioral and psychological determinants of financial wellbeing and advice-seeking in Australia's retirement savings context.
His research interests encompass financial inclusion, capability, retirement preparedness, responsible investment, and climate change impacts on personal finance. Dr. Westermann has consulted for UNESCAP on financial inclusion policies for women and rural communities across Asia-Pacific and Latin America, facilitating knowledge exchange through Communities of Practice.
Current research projects investigate financial habit formation in young adults and determinants of financial literacy. His publications analyze financial advice-seeking behaviors, corporate social responsibility in REITs, and comparative financial inclusion frameworks.
