Steffen Meyer is a full professor at the Department of Economics and Business Economics at Aarhus University and a research fellow at the Danish Finance Institute (DFI). His research focuses on private investors' decision-making in capital markets, particularly analyzing investment mistakes and the impact of ambiguity. He collaborates extensively with industry partners including banks, brokerages, and associations, resulting in numerous peer-reviewed publications.
Teaching Responsibilities: Professor Meyer instructs bachelor's courses in investments and master's programs in financial management and household finance. He has also taught dynamic asset allocation, corporate finance, and value-based management.
Research Interests: Key areas include behavioral finance, household finance, investment advice, and decision-making under risk/ambiguity. His work explores topics such as ETFs, retail investor behavior, forced fund liquidations, and the effects of air quality on trading activity.
Grants & Initiatives: He leads the Carlsberg Foundation-funded 'CentR-A' center studying decision-making under risk/ambiguity. Recent projects include investigating payment-for-order-flow impacts with Trade Republic and participating in the Think Forward Initiative.
Awards: Received the 2023 FMA Best Pitch Award for outstanding research presentation.
