Steffanie Burk serves as Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Research and Creative Work in the Department of Equine Science at Otterbein University. She teaches diverse courses including Horsemastership, Equine Anatomy and Physiology, and Therapeutic Riding, while maintaining active research programs in equine health and human-therapeutic applications.

Dr. Burk's research centers on equine parasitology and equine-assisted services. In equine-assisted services, she employs physiological markers like salivary cortisol and heart rate variability to quantify therapeutic riding's impact on stress reduction in autism spectrum disorders.
