Stefania Pafumi is a Researcher at the CNR's Mediterranean Studies Institute (ISMed) in Naples since 2016. She holds a Classics degree from the University of Catania, a specialization in Classical Archaeology, and a PhD in Magna Graecia Archaeology from the University of Naples Federico II. Her research focuses on ancient sculpture, Roman copies, early modern museum practices, and digital heritage preservation. She has collaborated with institutions like the National Archaeological Museum of Naples and Oxford University, and participated in excavations in Cyprus and Italy. Her work bridges classical archaeology with the history of collecting and museology.
Key projects include study of the Farnese Sculptures, the Biscari Museum collections, and digitization of the Benedictine Library's antiquarian funds. She has authored monographs on Greek sculpture and contributed to international journals on Hellenistic art and cultural history. Current activities involve coordinating interdisciplinary projects on historical Sicilian collections and early modern museology.
