Dr. Stefania Boscari is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management in the Department of Operations at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Economics and Business. She holds a PhD in Management Engineering from the University of Padova (2015) and an MSc in Management and Engineering from the University of Udine (2011). Her research focuses on sustainable supply chain management, supply chain resilience, diversity & inclusion, national and organizational culture, and lean operations. She currently chairs the OPERA Programme Committee and has held academic positions at Swansea University (2015–2017) and the University of Groningen (2017–present).
Her teaching responsibilities include courses such as Purchasing & Supply Chain Management, Process Improvement and Change, and Supervision of Master Thesis projects. She emphasizes practical applications of operations management principles, bridging theory and industry practice.
Dr. Boscari's research explores the interplay between organizational culture, sustainability practices, and supply chain dynamics. Recent work examines resilience strategies in supply chains, the impact of cultural dimensions on project management, and synergies between Industry 4.0 and lean practices. Her studies often employ case analyses to highlight real-world applications.
She actively contributes to academic discourse through peer-reviewed journals and conferences, focusing on global operations, cultural influences, and environmental management. Her work underscores the importance of contextualizing operational strategies within cultural and environmental frameworks to achieve sustainable competitive advantages.
