Stefan Winter

Prof. Stefan Winter is a Full Professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) since 2003, leading the Chair of Timber Construction and Building Design. He previously held a professorship at the University of Leipzig (2000-2003) and a Finnish Distinguished Professorship at Aalto University (2009-2012). His research focuses on timber construction, fire safety, multi-story timber structures, and energy-efficient building methods. He studied civil engineering at TUM and TU Darmstadt, completing his doctorate in steel-concrete composite construction in 1997.

Awards: Bavarian Timber Construction Prize (2011), woodwisdom-ERAnet Best Project Award (2011), and Team-Up Award (2010).
