Stefan Teipel

Prof. Dr. Stefan Teipel serves as Group Leader and Clinical Coordinator at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Rostock, focusing on advancing clinical dementia research with emphasis on Alzheimer's disease (AD). His work bridges methodological development, specialized clinical settings, and routine care implementation through biomarker validation and digital health technologies.

His primary research lines include:

• Evaluating AD biomarkers (prognostic, diagnostic, theranostic) across care settings using MRI volumetry and molecular imaging (amyloid/tau PET)
• Developing real-world patient monitoring systems via wearable sensors and environmental sensing for clinical trials
• Implementing participatory innovation frameworks engaging patients/caregivers in technology design
