Stefan Scherer

Stefan Scherer is a Professor of Modern German Literature at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), specializing in media and television analysis. He is one of Germany's leading researchers on the long-running ARD crime series 'Tatort,' examining its reflection of social developments and regional living conditions over decades. His work focuses on visual aesthetics, narrative structures, and the series' role as a 'social novel' documenting the Federal Republic's cultural evolution since 1970.
