Stefan Gröschl is a Professor of Management at ESSEC Business School (France), specializing in diversity management, leadership, and sustainability. He holds an HDR from the University of Strasbourg and a PhD from Oxford Brookes University. His career includes visiting professorships at Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), FGV EAESP (Brazil), and other institutions. Gröschl co-directed the ESSEC Chair of Leadership and Diversity (2007–2014) and has been a tenured faculty member since 2001.
His research focuses on interculturalism, responsible leadership, and DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) in global organizations. Key areas include women’s leadership, diaspora communities, and sustainability practices in informal economies. He has authored/edited books like From the Death Zone to the Boardroom (2019) and International Human Resource Management: A Canadian Perspective (2009).
Awarded the 2018 FNEGE prize for best management paper and recognized for Uncertainty, Diversity and the Common Good (2013), Gröschl’s work bridges academia and practice. He contributes to journals like Gender, Work & Organization and serves on editorial boards including Cornell Hospitality Quarterly. His teaching and research emphasize transdisciplinary approaches to complex organizational challenges.
